Economic Times on 31/12/2018 Maruti is not selling much. Each year it has been seeing tremendous growth in Sales. Are they sitting and doing nothing about their slowing down growth rate (around 9%). No. They are strategising and taking all sorts of Tactical moves required to pump up Sales. Do we all do that? They are pushing the cars to their Stake Holders with additional discounts. - not much, max 20k. Will it hurt their profits? May be in the short run. But how about in the long run? Of course huge profits through the after market revenues!! Awesome move Maruti!! Thank you for the inspiration!
Today in ET the news said this. Total consolidated revenue for the FY ending Mar 2013 was Rs.48,379 crore. Thus as per 2013 standard the company is investing around 0.21 % of its revenue for the Social Infrastructure of Thoothukudi. Tax paid by Sterlite in 2013 is Rs. 1,618 crore. That amount is 1600% higher than the Rs.100 core earmarked for this purpose. Looking at it in another angle, Sterlite is paying an additional Tax.However, instead of routing it through the government, it is directly investing the amount in it's local community. Just a passing thought.
